Fire Auditing
Fire audit for the workplace is undertaken in line with requirements of the Fire Risk Reduction Rules, Legal Notice No. 59.
The audit aims at proposing suitable and practicable recommendations to mitigate on high-risk observations made in relation to fire safety for all the Occupiers operations.
Methodology
Fire audit cover various aspects which are related to design, operation, maintenance and review of fire hazards related to day to day business operations of the facilities. Like in the case of OSH audit, a three-phase approach described below is employed in undertaking fire audit:
- Review documentations/Fire Safety legislations and regulations relevant to the company’s operations;
- Identify all significant fire hazards
- Evaluate if existing control measures reduces risk to a tolerable level;
- Assess availability of suitable emergency response plan detailing responsibilities and actions of key personnel;
- Assess training, information and instruction to all occupants of premises about fire safety
- Collate data/information collected during on-site audit;
- Advice on mitigation measures for the needs identified;
- Compile comprehensive Fire Safety Audit Reports to be submitted to DOHSS and the client,
